Wow! You could get hooked up with organizations and foundations that gather old PCs, refurbish them, and send them to needy schoolchildren in Africa or Asia. Your hobby could turn into a real humanitarian effort. I'm sure there's an organization based in UK but the ones I've found so far in the web are operating in the US and ...

The main thing I'm not sure about at the moment is what to do with sensitive documents that require shredding. A lot of local businesses shred then burn, which I feel is hardly the most environmentally friendly solution.

The would be a security problem. Though I'm sure ...

Does your local community already having problems with those ubiquitous PET and plastic mineral water bottles (are they the same?). Most garbage cans in public places here are filled with them. Is there something somewhere that could turn these environmental hazards into something attractive and useful? I'm afraid they can't be ...

It was on a local news and they were showing something about China (?). It was an industrial-sized plastic recycling plant. Produced impressive building materials. A guy heaved one of the blocks and let it fall from shoulder height. It didn't break. :)

A 386?!? How much RAM does it have? I'm not a computer techie but it has become a hobby to make old PCs run thru GNU/Linux. The oldest I worked on was a Pentium MMX with 64MB of RAM. I was able to make it work with XFCE. :) I'm shopping around for a sturdy P3 for my IPcop.
