Hi all I am new to the scrap trade and I wanted to know what does these abbreviations that are used in the trade stand for:
CoD,DA, DFIA, NFE, NOC (is it No Objection certificate?), VA, SEZ, FOB
I'm also new to the terms, do you know what does CNF HK, means?
Thanks
CNF was earlier know as C&F- which stands for Cost & Freight. According to CNF, it is the seller's responsibility to deliver the goods to the port of destination. The seller's commitment is accomplished as soon as this is done. It is the buyer's responsibility to cover insurance from the port of origin or port of shipment to buyer's door. Given that the shipper is responsible for transportation, the shipper also chooses the forwarder.
HK- (not sure about this) Usually HK stands for Hong Knong. For example, HK-TDC stands for Hong Kong Trade Council.
