    The end of plastic bottles?

There are a number of eco friendly companies working on 'organic bottles' that are bio-degradable and last for about three years.  The first company I can think of is Innocent Drinks - they're trialing the bottles in certain parts of the UK, and I gather they've been a success.

I'd love to see more companies using these - well, either that or glass, which is at least easier to recycle than plastic round here.

Are any other companies using these eco-friendly bottles?  In the UK, we have to pay a premium for Innocent Drinks - are they expensive everywhere, or can we hope to see the price fall?

     Hi!

That's what I would like to know too. Often, new-fangled and eco-friendly stuff are more expensive than their regular counterparts so only a few uses them. BTW, those biodegradable bottles aren't available locally yet. :)

Most of the companies are turning to bio-degradable items rather than using plastics. Here is the list of them:

*SmartPlanet looks forward to trying the new biodegradable hand soaps from Patently Obvious, which are to hit Boots stores in March.

*US materials company Novomer has devised a method for making biodegradable plastics from carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.

The Consumer Electrics Show in Las Vegas is going green with biodegradable food containers, carbon offsetting and recycled paper.

*Welsh company Abaca has launched the first organic bed
