    Warning: "Battery Force" identity theft

Battery Force Ltd. is a genuine UK business, operating as internet retailer of small household batteries to UK-resident consumers - i.e. members of the public.

We have received several reports of what appears to be attempted fraud: A criminal calling himself "Donald Cox" or "Donald Simpson" or "Frank Stockium" (or probably something else by now) claims to be an employee of Battery Force (he isn't), and offers scrap metal for sale (which we don't trade in). The goods on offer tend to be "drained sealed lead acid batteries" or "used compressor scrap". The fraudster "speaks with a Nigerian accent" (according to some of the reports), and asks for a down-payment by Western Union or telegraphic transfer. The fraudster uses various techniques to enhance the credibility of his proposal, e.g. quoting our registered office address, referring inquirers to www.creditgate.com to download credit reports on our genuine business, or offering the inspection of some random scrap yard.

DO NOT BE FOOLED! BATTERY FORCE DOESN'T TRADE IN SCRAP and DOESN'T ASK FOR DOWN-PAYMENTS!

This illegal use of our company identity is unauthorised, and we continue to do what we can to curtail it. If you have been approached by anyone claiming to work for Battery Force, and if you're being asked for money, do yourself a favour: report the matter to the police immediately, and NEVER send any money.
